10 Ways to Keep Pushing Forward When Things Get Hard

Hey there! This week we’re going to dig deeper into my last post. In that post I talk about choosing your hard in your entrepreneurial journey and in life in general. Its used a lot in the fitness world – “choose your hard, health problems or being sore after the gym” – that type of thing. In entrepreneurship I think of it as “choose your hard, feeling stuck in a job going no where, or sacrificing in the now to create something amazing and long lasting.”

So this post is a little list of 10 ways I push myself forward when I’m feeling that hard deep in my bones. I’ll keep this one short and sweet 🙂

  1. Reconnect with Your Why
Remember why you started and the goals you’re working toward.
  2. Break It Down
Focus on one small, achievable step at a time instead of the whole mountain.
  3. Lean on Your Support System
Talk to a friend, mentor, or loved one who can offer encouragement.
  4. Celebrate Small Wins
Recognize even the tiniest accomplishments—they all add up.
  5. Practice Self-Care
Rest, recharge, and refocus by prioritizing your physical and mental health.
  6. Learn from Challenges
Reflect on what the tough times are teaching you and how you can grow.
  7. Stay Consistent
Show up daily, even if it’s just a little. Progress is still progress.
  8. Visualize Your Success
Picture yourself overcoming the challenge—it’s a powerful motivator.
  9. Seek Inspiration
Listen to a podcast, read a book, or watch a motivational video to reignite your spark.
  10. Remind Yourself: This Too Shall Pass
Tough times don’t last, but your resilience and determination will.

So if you’re reading this because you feel you need to push forward – Keep going—you’re stronger than you think!
