Hey there hi there! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Today I’d like to talk a bit about how I manage my time and am finding balance between running (and growing) my business, fitness, and fun.

To be honest, there isn’t much in the way of fun adventures right now. My budget is tight while I get back on my feet, but I’m finding adventure in things like hiking, trying out new restaurants, etc. and keeping it local!
My previous post was all about how I keep organized and productive, and really that’s the gist of how I create balance in my schedule. I have to LITERALLY block out time for fitness and fun or else I would get caught in that entrepreneurial spiral of thinking that there’s always something to be done and I’m never working enough. There’s always an underlying anxiety around my to-do list, and I think that will just always be there.
I also have to keep my ultimate goal in mind. If I’m just working all the time that means I’m not taking care of myself and I’m not living life! Yes, building a business (especially one as new as mine) requires some sacrifice in the present, but I shouldn’t be working 24/7.
When it comes to fitness, I currently take Woods on a 2 miles walk first thing every morning. This is great quality time together for us, gets my body moving, and is time outside I wouldn’t otherwise take. Moving in with dad meant leaving the city life and setting out in the county, and I have to say its amazing. Its quieter, safer, and we’ve even made some deer friends that we come across every morning.
3 times a week I meet with a good friend of mine who is also my trainer! He offers semi-private training so I get to socialize a bit while also pushing myself physically (and getting out of the house and into the real world). I’ve been meeting with him for about 2 months now, and while I haven’t seen any change on the scale I have noticed progress in my definition, sleep quality, energy levels, and have noticed my clothes are fitting differently (in the best way!).
Now that the terrible STL summer weather is over, I’ll be making more time for the trails and getting Woods out on hikes. We’re cooler weather people and our time has arrived!
So, it really is that you have to schedule the time in for everything you want to dedicate time to. Even if you aren’t an entrepreneur – if you don’t put the gym on your calendar do you REALLY think you’ll go? I never did. My priorities have shifted, and literally writing it into my day means I’m committed to it.
